Obituary for Donald Wiese Sr, son of Harry Wiese

Donald Harry Wiese Sr., beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died peacefully at the age of 83 on Monday, January 26, 2004 at the San Diego Hospice. Donald Wiese, of El Cajon, was born in Canton, Ohio on January 14, 1921 to Beulah and Harry Wiese. Donald graduated Kokomo High School in Indiana in 1939. He went on to attend Purdue University where he received his Bachelors Degree in Metallurgical Engineering. On September 16, 1943, Donald married Maxine Betty Evans in Kokomo Indiana. They were the proud parents of Donald Harry Wiese Jr., and Richard Lee Wiese. Donald was truly an accomplished man. While living in Connecticut, Donald was employed by Buick, Wallingford Steel, and NTH. He came to California under the employment of Pacific Tube Company and was later employed by Carpenter Technology. There he held positions of Division Vice President, and General Manager. Donald retired from Carpenter Technology after 17 years of service in 1981. Donald was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Connecticut, the Metallurgical Society, and TMS Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society. To those who knew him he was a proud, strong, intelligent man who enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling with his wife Maxine, sailing, and fishing. Those surviving in his passing include his two sons Donald Wiese Jr. of Vista and Richard Wiese of Escondido; his grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and his second wife, Carol Wiese. Donald touched many lives with his humorous wit, love, and compassion. He was loved and respected by all. He will be missed beyond belief and we wish him eternal life. Services will be held in the upcoming weeks at the El Cajon Cemetery on Dehesa Road. Please sign the guest book at obituaries.uniontrib.com Published in the San Diego Union-Tribune on 2/7/2004.
